The Oscars – Gregg Breinberg and the P.S. 22 Chorus Win the Red Carpet
The Academy Awards have yet to begin, however Gregg Breinerg and P.S. 22 have already stolen the show.
”Mr. B” is the chorus director at P.S. 22 on Staten Island. The P.S.22 Chorus is comprised of an incredibly talented group of 5th graders who will be performing at tonight’s Academy Awards.
Breinberg and the students who were interviewed were extremely effective – very little, if any, verbal filler; concise answers; passionate delivery; positive body language, especially facial expression, clear, consistent messaging and a few terrific sound bites- ”Don’t fake it, you have to feel it.”
Counter this with most of the other “red carpet” interviews so far – a lot of verbal filler, no messaging, very little, if any, mention of the folks who make everything possible for those who are attending (fans) and repeated missed opportunities.
Breinberg and his students should be commended for quite a bit. Right now, I would like to commend them for making the most of every second of broadcast attention this evening, and making sure that their message reaches as many people as possible. A wonderful story and a great display of media savvy.
